We all need to be a little hurt for character development in life.
I saw a reel that raised a very valid question. “Have you ever felt inspired by a rich, privileged kid who has always gotten whatever he wanted?” For most of us, the answer is no. I mean, we might aspire to build a future where we can enjoy all the luxuries of life, but a privileged life doesn’t teach us anything.
A life that already has what can be achieved gets boring very quickly. So when we complain about the sorrows and the difficulties that we are put through, we should actually be grateful. A person who hasn’t overcome any type of difficulty comes out to be weak. Congratulations to you if you have such a life but personally, I love me some trauma.
Any person who needs their character developed should face difficulties in their life. Be it a really bad breakup, a personal or financial loss, a failure in something that meant a lot or anything that evokes the demon in you. I read somewhere that ‘First, you should know that there is a wild beast inside you and then you have to learn to tame it.’
Recognizing how much power we have and how much we can endure is a crucial part of self-awareness. When you are put in life-or-death situations, you prove to yourself that you’re capable. You become the version of yourself that you never would have imagined. When you overcome an obstacle that would generally give you nightmares, you prove to yourself that you got it. The trust within you strengthens and that is when the superhero version of you is born.
So if life is kicking you in the butt, endure it. Later in life, you will be grateful because it will be a reminder of you not giving up. Note down such instances and revisit them when you feel weak in the moment. It is crazy to realize that we have so much untouched potential within us and if we don’t intentionally put ourselves out of our comfort zones, we won’t ever be able to know what we are capable of.
Until next time, Adios amigo!
When we see other people navigate their way through hardships, it changes our perspective. I recorded one such experience and you can read it HERE!
