Your reality is where your feet are.
This is a gentle reminder that our feet quite literally ground us in the present moment. They are a reminder that we need to refocus our attention on the present moment. This perspective brings us back to reality. Think about it—when we’re anxious or stressed, our minds tend to wander and we start to overthink. We get caught up in thoughts about the past or worries about the future. But if we take a moment to bring our attention to them, it’s like we’re anchoring ourselves back to the present.
Our feet are firmly planted on the ground, supporting us as we navigate through life. And when we focus on their sensation against the floor, it’s like we’re tuning into the here and now. I’ve found that when I’m feeling anxious or overwhelmed, simply paying attention to my feet can help bring me back to center. I’ll take a few deep breaths and really feel the connection with the earth beneath me.
And you know what? It’s amazing how much of a difference it can make. Suddenly, the worries and anxieties that seemed so overwhelming start to lose their power. I realize that in this moment, right now, I’m okay. I’m safe. And that’s all that really matters. It’s like our feet are little reminders that we’re exactly where we need to be. We don’t have to have it all figured out, and we don’t have to be perfect. We just have to be here, in this moment, with our feet firmly planted on the ground.
And you know what else? We are constantly moving forward, one step at a time. They’re always leading us towards the next moment, the next experience. So even when things feel tough, we can take comfort in the fact that we’re always moving forward, always progressing. I think that’s why that quote resonates with me so much. It’s a reminder that no matter what’s going on in our lives, we always have the present moment to come back to. We always have our feet to anchor us and guide us forward.
Until next time, Adios amigo!
Dealing with the anxiety is tough and the former is the only quote that gets me going. But there is something that gives me a lot of anxiety and that is death. You can read about my thoughts on death HERE!
