No. 186: One decision away from a better life.

You are just one decision away from a better life.

If you are someone who isn’t disciplined, aren’t someone who has routines, can’t plan well, can’t follow through, has low motivation, has no will to change or no intent of leading a better life, but wishes to become a better person, you can still do it. Although it is highly unlikely that all these traits land up in one person. It would either have to be a really bad day or a week for you, or the universe maybe just isn’t on your side. Either way, this one thing can change the course of your life.

“Just take a decision for this very moment.” We all know the present is what defines the future. We can wish for all we want, but without taking action in the present, there is no way that we can achieve anything in the future. So right now, without making an elaborate plan or a timetable or giving yourself a headache about how things will change, just take a decision that is better for you.

For example, I have always wanted to be a person who eats healthy and remains fit. But every morning I struggle to decide what to eat for breakfast. This uncertainty makes me pick the unhealthier option because it is easier to make and tastier to eat. I have made numerous meal plans and diet plans and motivated myself to the extent that I skipped the meal because I was so confused. Nothing worked.

So today I woke up, forgot about everything I had done, and just asked myself, “What can I do right now to make my life better?” And just this question makes me pick the healthier food option. I grabbed the first thing that I could eat and wouldn’t regret later. This decision led to a domino effect and throughout the day I ate healthy.

Sometimes it’s that simple!

Until next time, Adios amigo!
