MindOomph Shorts No. 83: Practice makes a man perfect!

Do you practice what you preach?

Isn’t it funny how life has a way of testing us on the very lessons we try to teach others? I’ve definitely noticed this pattern in my own life. Whenever I find myself giving advice to a friend or sharing some wisdom I’ve picked up along the way, it’s almost like the universe is listening in and saying, “Let’s see if you practice what you preach!”

It’s like clockwork: as soon as I offer guidance or share my insights, a similar situation will inevitably crop up in my own life. It’s almost uncanny how perfectly the universe orchestrates these little tests of our integrity and consistency. At first, I used to get frustrated by it. I mean, why did I have to deal with the same challenges I was trying to help others navigate? Wasn’t I supposed to be immune to all this drama now that I was playing the role of the wise advisor?

But then I realized that maybe these “coincidences” weren’t just random occurrences. Maybe they were actually opportunities for growth and self-reflection—a chance for me to practice what I preach and demonstrate the principles I hold dear. So now, instead of resisting these moments, I embrace them. I see them as opportunities to reaffirm my beliefs and strengthen my resolve. After all, if I’m going to dish out advice, I better be willing to take it myself, right?

And you know what? I’ve found that if I face these challenges head-on and practice the lessons I preach, it will make me a better person. It’s forced me to confront my own flaws and shortcomings, and to strive for greater authenticity and integrity in everything I do. So the next time you find yourself doling out advice to a friend, just remember: the universe might be listening. And who knows? The very lesson you’re imparting to someone else might just be the one you need to learn yourself.

Until next time, Adios amigo!
