MindOomph Shorts No. 79: Scroll for a stress free day!

I’m giving you a reason to scroll on social media.

You know, sometimes I catch myself mindlessly scrolling through social media, and I can’t help but wonder why I do it. But then I realized—it’s just a coping mechanism.

Life can be overwhelming sometimes, you know? There’s so much going on—work, relationships, responsibilities—it can all feel like too much to handle. And when things start to feel like they’re spiraling out of control, social media is like a lifeline. It’s a way to escape from the chaos and find some semblance of peace, even if it’s just for a little while.

I think that’s why we’re so drawn to it. It’s not just about mindlessly scrolling through our feeds; it’s about finding a moment of relief from the constant barrage of stress and anxiety that life throws our way. Whether it’s watching funny videos or looking at cute pictures of animals, social media gives us a brief respite from the chaos of everyday life.

And you know what? There’s nothing wrong with that. In fact, I think it’s important to give ourselves permission to take breaks and recharge our batteries, especially when life gets tough. So the next time you find yourself reaching for your phone and opening up Instagram or Twitter, don’t beat yourself up about it. Instead, embrace it as a way to take care of yourself and give yourself the break you deserve.

After all, we all need a little sweetness in our lives, don’t we? And if social media is the sweet escape that helps us find it, then so be it. As long as we’re mindful of how much time we spend online and make sure to balance it with other activities that bring us joy, there’s no harm in indulging in a little scrolling now and then.

Until next time, Adios amigo!
