If you keep worrying about the future, then you’ll end up with just as many regrets down the road.
This is because humans ‘generally’ don’t like uncertainty. We are afraid of the unknown and want to be prepared for what’s to come. So if we are fixated on our future all the time, the ‘what if’s’ would never end, and that is going to hinder us from living the present at it’s best. It’s like trying to hold water in your handsโthe more you try, the more it slips away. We like having a plan and predicting every twist and turn because it makes us feel safe. But here’s the catch: Our obsession with tomorrow can rob us of today’s beauty.
The constant ‘what ifs’ are like shadows from the future, blocking the sunlight of the present. It’s like clutching onto a cloud; the more you grab, the less you actually hold. Always fixating on what’s coming can create an invisible wall between you and the vibrant canvas of now.
Living under the reign of ‘what if’ is like having a compass always pointing north. It gives you direction, sure, but it also stops you from exploring. The unexpected turns, the delightful surprisesโyou find them when you’re open to uncertainty. So, instead of fearing the unknown, I’m learning to waltz with it. Life’s rhythm seems more enchanting when you let go of trying to control every beat. ๐๐
Until next time, Adios amigo!
