Doesn’t “start-up” literally mean “start to go up because you are already at your lowest”?
It’s just a joke; please do not come after me 😂. But I don’t think its actually true, because if that were the case, no one who opens a start-up would ever fail. My beef with this word is that, after literally promising to make our lives go up, it makes us go through tougher times. Doing something of your own is no joke, though. The excitement of being your own boss and taking decisions for yourself is very quickly surpassed by the loneliness, the 12–14-hour days, the craving for success, the constant loop of negativity, and the declining will to continue to pursue it.
And how can I forget the cloud of doubt and the pouring rain of comparison that are constantly surrounding us? When you realize that there is no fixed date for being successful, the tank of motivation we have empties in seconds. A start-up is not a career decision, it’s a mindset. I don’t even want to mention the aspect of earning because I don’t know if it is even in the near future or not. But just the thought, mindset, and lifestyle it takes to do something of your own takes strength.
I might not have started a business of my own “yet,” but I can say all this because I have been putting effort into making my blog and my social media successful. This is a start-up for me. I am grinding every day to make myself visible. One thing I know for a fact is that one day all these years of hard work and dedication will make me an ‘overnight success’. So if you are reading this and are building something of your own, Don’t give up. You and I will be successful soon!
Until next time, Adios amigo!
