MindOomph Shorts No. 154: A planner never gives up!

I’m a planner through and through.

I like to know what’s coming next, and I love making lists and schedules. There’s something so satisfying about crossing things off a to-do list. It gives me a sense of control and accomplishment. But sometimes, being a planner can be a bit of a curse. I often find myself overthinking and stressing about every little detail. I plan each minute of my day, and if something unexpected comes up, it throws me off. I get frustrated and anxious when things don’t go according to my plan. It’s hard for me to just go with the flow and let things happen naturally.

Lately, I’ve been trying to find a balance. I still make my lists and schedules, but I’m also trying to be more flexible. I remind myself that it’s okay if things don’t go exactly as planned. Sometimes, the best moments happen when you least expect them. And being in the creative field requires me to prioritize free time. But I’ve noticed that being a planner has never bit me in the back; rather, it has always helped me to analyze and look for solutions to get things done.

One thing that’s helped me is planning for the unexpected. I leave a little room in my schedule for things that might come up. If I have a busy day, I make sure to schedule some downtime too. For now, this downtime consists of either scrolling or spending time with my parents. I’m also learning to trust the process. Not everything needs to be planned out to the last detail. Sometimes, it’s okay to take a step back and let things unfold on their own. It’s a work in progress, but I’m getting there.

Being a planner has its perks, but it’s important to find a balance. Planning can help you stay organized and on track, but don’t let it take away from enjoying the present moment. Life is unpredictable, and that’s what makes it exciting. So, make your plans, but be open to surprises. You never know what amazing things might happen when you least expect them.

Until next time, Adios amigo!

Mentioning these timetables makes me reminisce about our childhood, when we used to be innocent and would find happiness in the smallest things. If you want to visit our childhood, read HERE!
