MindOomph Shorts No. 101: My self-worth is the problem!

This is clearly a sign of low self-worth.

I recently got a job offer that was undeniable in every aspect. And that’s exactly what I thought for 5 minutes, after which I had a brain fog and my low self-worth entered the scene. The first thoughts were, “How did I, out of so many candidates, get it? There might be an error or a fluke in the list of accepted candidates.

For me to overcome these thoughts, it takes some time. I have to let the situation sink in and then make a list of reasons why I’m worth it. My brain needs a handwritten list of reasons that make it clear that I don’t need to worry and that I’m safe in taking the opportunity.

I hope this isn’t common, because if everyone is functioning this way, on their toes all the time, we have a problem. The fact that we can’t even feel good around good things shows how broke we are inside. It’s like we’re programmed to doubt ourselves, to second-guess every success, every achievement. It’s like we’re constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop, for someone to come along and say, “Oops, sorry, there’s been a mistake.” Our self-worth is taking the hit every time.

But you know what? It’s time to break free from that cycle of self-doubt. It’s time to start believing in ourselves, in our worth, in our abilities. Because the truth is, we are worthy. We are deserving of all the good things that come our way. Because at the end of the day, your worth isn’t determined by external factors or other people’s opinions. It comes from within, from knowing deep down that you are enough, just as you are.

So embrace your worth, embrace your value, and don’t let anyone or anything make you doubt yourself. You are capable, you are deserving, and you are enough. Do what it takes to keep your self-worth high at all times. And once you start believing in yourself, there’s no limit to what you can achieve.

Until next time, Adios amigo!
