Everything for a reason, there’s things you had to learn from them
But when I get you to myself
You know what’s going down
Drake (Song: Practice)
If at all I could have taken a grain size inspiration from my grandpa who was an army officer, I wouldn’t have been here ruining my life. But I guess that’s why kids from army families are called brats (Laughing emojis). In my school days I wasn’t this lazy and irresponsible. But life happens. Everything changes. (Look at me justifying my mistakes, I’m so shameful, laughing emojis). I might have crossed every extent of ruining my self discipline.
Are you with me Or am I alone? Have you tried multiple timetables, read a million articles on self discipline and followed none, got a zillion beatings from your mom for waking up at off hours or are you normal? All I do is laugh at my situation hoping that one day I will improve. A day will come when I will be able to follow the millionaire mindset and routine (Who am I kidding? Laughing emojis).
I assure Play store is fed up by now because of the number of apps I have installed to remind me to follow my routine. My cell phone wants a break from it’s 24*7 duty. There hasn’t been a single drawer in my house where I haven’t kept my phone to keep myself away from it. The alarm clock wants to bathe coz it’s covered in dust as I don’t use it. The number of timetables I have created in my life is more than the songs I have in my music library (Current total of downloaded music= 2703).
I’m so bad at discipline that I prevent myself from doing something that’s actually good for me. You don’t believe me? I’ll tell u. I used to exercise and I started to see results. But my shitty brain doesn’t like me seeing results. So out of nowhere I’m fed up with working out and haven’t moved a limb since then.
So Pinterest says ‘discipline and determination are like muscles. They can be hard to flex in the short term. However if you exercise them, the more they are used daily, the better and stronger they are, in the long term.’ And I studied about all of this online and found out that our bodies like doing tasks that increase a ‘dopamine rush’. It doesn’t know if a task is good or not, we have to make our body realize that.
So my friend if you are anything like me, first of all I’m sorry about that and second of all let’s find our way out. This can be done if we start releasing dopamine from our healthier habits. If we do stuff that is better for us more than often, science says we will start liking it. It might become an addiction. Yo, it will be a 2 way benefit. Hear me out. If we develop an addiction for our work we won’t need to use alcohol and cigarettes. Hence we can get our work done and be healthy at the same time. Genius ain’t I?
Another way we can start is by the “out of sight, out of mind” rule. The things that distract us shouldn’t be around us. Gotta throw this electronic piece of shit away (after you finish reading please, laughing emoji). Last but not the least – Repetition. We gotta do it everyday, whatever it maybe we are trying to accomplish. Even if you fall back one day, try to relapse and not miss the next day. Look at me, being a guru for no reason.
Trust me I am the last person to tell you all this. But this time you and I will do it together. You decide a goal and so will I and we will meet up after a month and discuss our progress. Good luck, trust yourself and repeat.

I used to make timetables but never followed them. I was more interested in making timetables than being interested in studies.
