MindOomph Shorts No. 89: Granted wishes are a gift!

Sometimes what you want is not granted by God but by the Devil!

It’s an intriguing thought, isn’t it? The idea that sometimes our desires are fulfilled not by some benevolent force, but by something darker. It’s like there’s this unseen hand guiding us towards what we want, but we don’t realize until it’s too late.

I’ve had moments in my life where I’ve wished for something, only for it to be granted but also turn out to be a double-edged sword. It’s like I was being tempted by something that seemed good on the surface, but underneath it all, there was a hidden agenda. It’s a sobering realization, to say the least. To think that what we desire may not always be in our best interest. Perhaps there are forces at play beyond our understanding, pulling the strings and leading us down a path we never intended to walk.

But then again, maybe it’s not so surprising after all. After all, they say that the road to hell is paved with good intentions. And perhaps that’s true in more ways than one. So what do we do in the face of such uncertainty? How do we navigate a world where our desires may be granted by something other than the divine?

I think the key is to approach our desires with caution. To question our motives and consider the consequences of our actions. To ask ourselves whether what we want aligns with our values and beliefs, or if it’s just a fleeting desire that will ultimately lead us astray. And perhaps most importantly, to seek guidance from within. To listen to that voice deep inside us that knows right from wrong, and to trust that it will guide us towards what is truly good and just.

Because at the end of the day, our desires may be influenced by forces beyond our control, but ultimately, it is up to us to decide how we respond. Our wishes will be granted sooner or later. And by staying true to ourselves and our values, we can navigate even the darkest of temptations with grace and integrity.

Until next time, Adios amigo!

I don’t know about the wishes granted by the Devil, but I do think about death a lot. You can read my deep reflections on death HERE!
