“You have probably turned dumb, staying at home.”
This is a line that triggers me a lot, and I have heard it quite a lot since I am at home working on my website and all my social media. Till the time I was studying for my bachelors and masters, I was “intelligent, studious, and a good kid.” But now I am someone who has “dumbed down” because I’m not “using my brain enough.”
Yup, this is something I’m made to believe by my “caretakers”. I know they just want me to be great again and use my brain to 100%, but they should also consider the fact that I am trying to be my best. It is not easy to come here on LinkedIn and see people succeeding in their lives, stacking accomplishments left and right.
I know I chose this path, and it is meant to be lonely, time-consuming, and whatnot, but the last thing I want is for my parents to rub it in my face. A part of me knows that I probably wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for them. So, all that’s left is to take what they say with a pinch of salt, ignore it, and move on and work.
Until next time, Adios amigo!
